Heal Your Life - Grow Your Business
Heal Your Life - Grow Your Business
Are you ready to live the life you really deserve but feel stuck and unsure how to get there? Through goal- setting, you will be able to identify what is holding you back and design a step-by-step plan for overcoming obstacles and realizing your dreams. We will work together during our meetings where you will receive support, and we will make sure you are on-track each week. This can be useful for your career and financial goals, relationship and family goals, personal growth, or health and wellness goals.
Living with anxiety can be brutal to be sure. You may have panic attacks, be hesitant to show up to group events, or even leave your house. You may experience lessor symptoms on a daily basis that are no less troubling. Symptoms can be of a physical nature such as; fatigue, sweating, heart palpitations, or insomnia. They can also be more emotional; racing thoughts, irritability, restlessness, struggling to concentrate, worrying excessively, or having a feeling of impending doom, to name a few. At times, you may feel isolated and alone because friends and family cannot understand what you are going through. You may dread hearing things like, “Calm down” or “You worry too much”. During our meetings, you will learn the reasons behind these symptoms and begin to learn ways to cope with them to help yourself feel better.
Suffering from depression is painful. You may experience sadness, loss of interest in things you used to enjoy, or feelings of hopelessness. Being tearful, anxious, or not wanting to leave your home can be common. You may also experience physical symptoms such as; fatigue, insomnia, the desire to sleep too much, poor appetite, weight gain or loss. Depression can be isolating as many people who have not experienced it do not understand what you are going through. Hearing things like, “It could be worse” or “I know how you feel” can make you feel isolated and alone. In our meetings, you will be able to express your feelings and be received with acceptance. You will explore reasons for your symptoms and learn skills to help yourself feel better.
Experiencing grief is something that happens to all of us and one of the things we dread the most. There are many "stages of grief" that we have all heard about, but what does that mean and how does it work? Together, we will talk about what you are dealing with and you will have a comforting place to speak freely about anything that is on your mind. Sometimes, while our friends or family mean well, they just don't know what to say. Grief counseling provides a way for you to process your loss without the fear of answering unwelcome questions or hearing hurtful, or unsolicited advice.
Class participants will learn to recognize triggers and underlying reasons for their anger and that is is alright to be angry. What matters is how we handle those emotions. Class will provide them with coping skills and tools they can use to change the way they respond to those triggers, and help them find healthy ways to channel their anger. Although we will be using a workbook during this class, it will be a safe place to share and learn from others' experiences. Teaching this class is a passion of mine and I will make it as interesting as possible. Participants will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of this course. Private sessions available to accommodate clients' schedules. Anger management Springfield, MO or online.
Experiencing Divorce
Experiencing divorce is one of the most difficult things you can go through. When your relationship ends, you will experience a wide range of emotions; denial, anger, confusion, fear, frustration, and grief and loss. Any of these emotions individually can feel agonizing, but when they are piled on top of one another, combined with a painful litigation process, they can become overwhelming. Throughout our time together, you will find support, strength, and courage you didn’t know you had.
Divorce Recovery
Rebuilding your life after divorce can be challenging and exhausting. My passion is helping you through this process so you not only survive, but thrive after your divorce. After working through the stages of grief and loss, you will begin to remember who you were before and design a new life that will become not only satisfying, but a life you truly look forward to waking up to each day.
As a dad, your divorce experience will be different and your struggles and challenges will be different. I enjoy working with men who are struggling with divorce and helping them realize they have a right to feel all the things they are feeling. Sometimes, the message men have gotten is that they don't have the right to be sad or angry, and that just isn't the case. Counseling can offer support, encouragement, help you create new goals and build a strong, new future you can look forward to.
Co-Parenting during and after divorce can be challenging at times due to lack of communication or parenting plan issues. These situations are difficult and you want to be able to handle them in the best possible way in order to provide your children the support and structure they deserve. In our meetings together, you will gain insight and skills to help you better navigate these challenges and become better equipped to cope with the stressors that stem from such issues. These sessions are individual sessions with one parent present.
If you have experienced narcissistic abuse, you know how traumatic it can be. Often, you don’t even realize you are being manipulated and controlled until you have been in the relationship for many years. Then, you wonder hopelessly if you might ever be able to escape it. You feel alone, confused, and even begin to question your own reality. During our meetings, you will learn more about the techniques used by narcissists, why you were targeted for the relationship, things you can do to heal and rebuild your life, and how to avoid being drawn into a relationship with a narcissist in the future.
I will help you organize your thoughts paper. Together, we will develop a solid plan of action for getting your counseling practice off the ground and put your goals on paper.

I offer one-time, two-hour consults for counselors in private practice who have questions and are looking to build or improve an area of their current practice.
People are my passion. I grew up in Springfield, Missouri and am invested in helping our community thrive. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Drury University where I studied Psychology and Criminal Justice. After working in social services for many years, then later as a stay-at-home mom and foster parent, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a Mental Health Counselor. Through past work with clients and personal experience, I realize that my special talents lie in helping people who are seeking help with chronic illness, grief, divorce recovery, survivors of narcissistic abuse, anxiety, depression, burnout and goal-setting. I believe in a holistic approach to living and a balanced lifestyle and look forward to helping my clients achieve their dreams. I am a homeless advocate and love meeting our unsheltered friends, hearing their stories, and finding ways to lend support. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family, being out in nature, photography, reading, learning, walking, attending live theater, and spending time with my cats and giant Lab, Dugan.
Holistic counseling is based on the belief that an individual is a whole person with all parts of their lives connected. Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual components are vital to a healthy, balanced, and happy life. Working to balance these areas can help you feel better.
As a successful private practice owner, I absolutely love helping other entrepreneurial-minded, motivated counselors venture out on their own. If this is you, let's talk about working together! I have created a step-by-step consulting program that will help you develop and execute your business.
